Hey there! If you are a visitor from Kate Krull's blog, welcome! I haven't posted in a while as things have been crazy around our house.  I don't have an about me tab, so I figured I'd share a little bit about myself. I'm a wife and a mom - our daughter is 3. She is an absolute joy (most of the time). We live in central Mississippi right outside of Jackson.  I work for University of Mississippi Medical Center - the largest hospital in our state and also home to the only children's hospital in Mississippi. Our facility treats pediatric cancer patients too. My hobbies include playing the piano, knitting (only scarves right now but I plan to learn more), cross stitch, and I am quilting and sewing with my mom's help. I did a little bit of smocking by my mother in law is a very talented smocker so I leave that to her! Feel free to come back and visit anytime!

I work with a really nice guy named Chris. He and his wife Shanna have a 3 year old daughter named Breland. We all went to the circus earlier this year and I would post a few pics from the circus, but I got a new phone and lost the old pics I had. Anyway, Shanna wanted to make a quilt for Breland, so I enlisted the help of my mom. We picked out fabric together at the Bernina store and then went back to mom's to sew some. Shanna has good taste in fabric! She picked a group of fabrics from a line called Vintage Modern by Bonnie and Camille. This fabric line is super popular in a lot of the blogs I read. I can't wait to see how her quilt turns out! And we are so thankful to mama for helping her!

Stephen picked up a turtle out of the yard the other day and put it on the porch for Mary Elizabeth to see. She touched it several times, asked it if it loved her, and proceeded to tell it that she had a Barbie car. When the novelty wore off, we went inside. Before I could get her hands washed she touched her mouth and the lump appeared in mine and stephen's throats. In case you don't know, turtles carry salmonella bacteria. We washed her hands really good and hoped for the best. We proceeded to do supper bath an tv time. The first round of vomit hit while she was in my lap in the recliner. After we both changed clothes and I brought her to our bed, the second round hit. Sheets, pillows, pajamas-everything. My sweet husband helped get us changed again and got all the linens changed. And my husband gags at other people's vomit! She went right on to sleep and never got sick again. Woke up the next day raring to go. I will leave you with a few pics of her and the culprit.

Started this project last Saturday and it is knitting up so fast! I've got to go to hobby lobby and get some more yarn since I'm about to be done. Thinking about doing these as Christmas presents for a few friends and family this year.

Several months back, my dad invited us to visit the petting zoo in Monticello.  I'm glad we did this in April before it got really really hot, although, it was pretty hot that day.  Most of the grandchildren were able to make it and here are some pics!

I see a pattern of posting on Fridays. This week has been pretty laid back. We enjoyed the mid-week holiday. MEY had her 3 year check up today.  I can report that she did not cry when having her finger pricked. She also measured in the 75th percentile for her weight and the 95th percentile for her height.  I am working on several cross stitch pieces and also plan to do some more work on my quilt tomorrow when we go swimming at moms. I also want to make one of these cute drawstring bags. Have a great weekend, y'all!
